Online
Photographer Booking Platform Launches in Nigeria
Finding the right photographer
for a particular event can be hard at times. Most times, people simply rely on
recommendations from friends or just happen upon these creative professionals
via social media, their websites or at physical events.
Thanks to a new site simply
called Photographers, you can now find and book for photographers, depending on
their location, expertise, your budget and duration of the event.
The platform, which describes
itself as ‘Nigeria’s no 1 photographic booking platform’, aims “to create a
marketplace that allows both emerging and established photographers share their
portfolio online, connect with fellow photographers, and do business with
prospective clients interested in their services.”
It also claims to attract and
feature only the best, accomplished and skillful photographers in the industry,
so expect to find both freelance and corporate photographers that specialize in
portraits, weddings, corporate and marketing shoots to hire for your event.
Users can also view the portfolio
of listed photographers, compare their charges with other photographers and if
you’re impressed with what you see, you can book them directly from the
platform by filling a quick form.

However, the platform doesn’t
seem to have an efficient search functionality that filters search results
based on location and expertise, as it shows up results that may not be
specific and relevant to a user’s photographer needs.
We’re not sure how the platform
plans to make money but like most online booking platforms, it could get a
small commission from the photographers when they’re hired through the
platform.
The site could also charge
photographers a small fee monthly or yearly to get promoted on the platform, or
even attract other event-related vendors to advertise on the platform.
No doubt, any start-up that
targets events-related business such as photography would thrive if managed
well, so it is expected that photogs would appreciate such a service. But most
importantly, any service catering to the events industry that builds a solid
search and intuitive recommendation engine would become a winner.
Thanks to this guy for giving us this. :)
